For those of us that hate the stock brakes... .....
I've recently upgraded my front brakes with some KVR Performance parts and thought some might be interested in these parts.
I have spent hours searching for upgrades and ran into many walls. It's somewhat difficult to find alternatives to stop a 1 ton 6x6. One of the well known companies would only sell their whole kit, at to me, a very hefty price. So search I did. I finally found KVR Performance and talked with Gary. He was very informative and helpful.
To make a long story short, I ended up purchasing some slotted rotors, carbon pads, and some Dot 5. 1 fluid for much less than I've seen advertised elsewhere. They have more expensive rotors and pads than what I bought. But, for the amount of towing and the driving I do, I figured these would be fine.
After a couple hours of installation (the OEM rotors were really rusted on after 81k miles), I followed their instructions for proper break-in.
Testing the brakes for the first time made me glad I was wearing my seat belt! All I can say is the brakes rock! High pedal, no fade, decreased stopping distance, better feel.
I've had these brakes on for about a month now and I'm happy to report the braking hasn't changed. Still fantastic.
If your in the need of brakes, you may want to give them a try. Here's a link to their website... ... .....
