I had my calipers off my 2000 2500QC 4x4 for lubrication as preventative maintenence and I noticed that the two sides were assembled differently. The passenger side was as the manual describes where the caliper is tilted out of the bracket from the top. However, the driver side had the anti-rattle springs installed so that it had to be tilted from the bottom to remove it (opposite the right side configuration). This is how it came from the factory. It seems that the driver's side is upside down but I'm not sure if it is a big deal or not. I was going to flip the springs around but decided to poll the experts before I did. I realize the bracket takes the rotational forces from the shoes but the hinge point would be preferably at the bottom as I see it. Anybody else seen anything like this or have any advice? Thanks in advance.
By the way, at 38k with mostly light loads or none, I have had no brake pull and have uniform wear on the inner and outer pads, both sides and lots of pad left.
