front cover bolt ?

this is going to sound funny . . but i toook my truck apart a couple of months ago and i just started reassembling teh engine part. now with the front cover bolts one of them is longer then all the others and has a round stepped washer type spacer that fits between the cover and the bolt head. . now i forgot what that is for or which long bolt hole it is placed in. . the service manuals do not mention or show any pictures and i don't have another truck local to compare it to etc . . so i figured some one out here would know thanks

SPACER

HELLO, i had the same trouble once, drivers side,bottom of cover at 3 oclock next to the balancer, real close to belt, enjoy joe

thanks guys cool !. . i knew where the return spring holder was but the spacer through me a loop thanks again. . well i ruined the first crank seal i tryed my seal didn't come witha applicator or install tool only the metal and plastic slip on sliders... i guess the trick is to install it in the cover wiuth the cover off the truck and the back supported oh well the service manual tells you to do it with the cover on the truck with a cover alignment tool that comes with the seal ha my cummins seal didn't have one. . oh well off the cummins tommarrow. . thanks again
