Anyone on here add a hitch receiver to the front of your truck?

I'm seeking a way to mount a bicycle carrier at the front, one of those that slide into the hitch receiver, so it wouldn't have to be real heavy duty.

My fifth wheel looks like putting one at the rear wouldn't be practical. I'm toying with a couple of ideas but want to see if I'm re-inventing the wheel here.

I replaced the tow hooks on the front of mine with a set of 2" balls so that I can pull my truck behind my work truck with a set of tow bars that dad and I made up. Dad did the same thing to his 09, but he welded a piece of heavy flat bar to his tow hooks and welded the balls in to match of with the tow bars he had made for his 94.

I would make a front bracket that bolts into your tow hook mounting holes and then add your hitch receiver to the front of that. Like you said, for a bicycle, it doesn't have to be real HD, but if you have it up there, you'll find all sorts of other uses for it.

Good luck and post pics when you get it complete.

Wow... NICE link!!! That Bodiak sure is a nice, clean looking unit... super easy to install or uninstall, too. The service step thay have for it would be handy for working on the engine, though I'd imagine that any 2" reciever hitch step would work also.
