Found the MOOG "problem solver line" lifetime unit:D My local big parts supplier for repair shops has them in stock.

These are the same part number from 94 - 01.

Part number for the bar is DS1413 (includes bushing) - shop cost is $187. 61

Part number for the bushing (if that's all that is needed) K7252 - shop cost is $12. 08

Stealer wanted $277 list - shop cost $207 for same old stuff.

Pick it up on the way home, install tonight - smooth driving till the next one - when? - who cares? it's FREE :-laf

Napa also has lifetime warrantied track bars for $189. Traded my in for a new one twice, no questions asked. Seem to last much longer than the stock one too.

I'll have to pick up a set. Tell me since I have the 24 valve does it take two per cylinder? What's the torque setting, I wonder if they will improve performance and increase mileage too. :-laf

Bill how many miles did you get out of the track bar to replace it three times? Is Napa's a Moog?

Stock bar went out at 17k, first Napa at 85k and the last at 170k. Not sure of the brand, it is writen on it, don't recall Moog.

Bro-in-law's neighbor brought over his new ford diesel to show it off. Bro-in-law remarked that it was sure "full" under the hood; his neighbor in all seriousness, said, "yea, changing the spark plugs is going to be a real bear. "

Hey Darren, I just did mine I went with a DT system. It is by far the best for the $$$$$. You will know when it is bad your front axel will move right to left causing play in your steering. It can also cause weird tire wear or front end clunking.

I just have to say that HoleshotHolset truck is awesome I cant wait to get his help with the Nos system. :D Oo. :D

Ok now time for the confusion.

Joe Mc got the same MOOG track bar for $187

that Sky found on Rockauto.com for $139. Same part # and it even says MOOG when you look it up, but I wonder how much of a PITA it would be once it came time to call on your "lifetime warrenty"?

The reason I ask is because I have need a track bar for my truck for quite a while, and the cheaper the better. :D

What year truck is most affected by this problem? I've got

75k miles on my 2000 truck and I have not experienced this track bar problem everyone talks about.

Thanks in advance,

Charles

Got Smoke?

I guess no one has the answer. Is Rock Auto reputable?
