I just replaced these cuz the old ones were the new 2 piece style (ie... busted).
I noticed, that the ball joints on the one end are at max with the truck sitting still.
Has anyone else noticed this ??
Mine is a 97, and I looked at a friends 98 yesterday, and the end link is totally different. Well, the link is the same, but on his, the ball joint mounts to the axle, and on mine, it mounts to the sway bar. No way to swap mine around.
On mine the ends of the sway bar have a hole in them that is parallel with the ground, and the sway bar is below the axel connection. On the 98, the sway bar is above the axle connection, and his sway bar end has a vertical hole.
The only real diff in the 97 & 98, is his is a srw, and mine is drw.
Any thoughts on how to help my end links live ? I did drill and tap them for a zerk, but with the angle they are working at, I doubt the grease will help.
I could do some welding to make the 98 version work, but don't really want to do that.
