I agree 100% with Killgore as it's applicable to most states. MN Weights and Measures didn't stop this problem which occurred at the terminal where diesel was mixed with gasoline - the same place where "additives" are supposed to be added to diesel: http://www.postbulletin.com/news/lo...cle_f2909dd0-b6f1-5b69-bbec-8287f0b6f9e9.html

I see your point.. that was Magellan fault...and No additive going to change Human errors. I dispute the article claim that Magellan mixes the renewable's Both St Paul Park and Rosemount Do the renewables on Site. Bruce Heine

Weather.com says that the coldest place in the country today has a low of -45°F. That is northern Minnesota. Do you use an antigel additive in these temps?

This post will be good...1st MN had laws on winterized fuel until the wise man at the state capital got involved in the Bio-diesel mandate..In their infinite wisdom the legislators done away with the mandatory -10 Nov and -30 Dec/Jan, -10 Feb....I was under the impression the law was still infect.. the Bio-diesel mandate done away with any mandates in MN for winterized requirements (How stupid). Niow to answer your question I think anti-gel will work UNTIL -30, So at -45 You had better be at 70% #1 & 30% #2 or 50/50 with treatment.

I've checked most stations drop sheets around here that I buy form its -26 Clear #2 and the company that delivers to the shop states -26 Clear #2.

We used to use a 50/50 mix of #1 & #2, anti-gel and 911. It was the only way to keep the equipment from completely freezing up. This was before all the emissions garbage. Now, we use whatever the local station sells for diesel, anti-gel and cases of starting fluid and 911. Every day is a struggle to get equipment started and keep running. We go thru cases of fuel filters. Sometimes we let trucks run all night to keep the fuel flowing. Then a couple days later they’re off to the dealer due to emissions problems.
