Personally, I would like to:

- be able to force a regen (e. g. , knowing that a regen will be required shortly and having the right conditions for a regen - like a good highway trip)
- be able to delay a regen (e. g. , going to be shutting down the vehicle in 5 mins)

Obviously, it would be nice to have a display that indicates how close to requiring a regen one would be...

I believe that I read somewhere that some cummins applications had such manual controls.

I had forgotten but, now that you mentioned it, I think I also read something about that. Maybe the MDTs using a Cummins ISB or ISC have that feature. I've always heard or read that the Cummins engines used in a MDT application have greater computer capacity and more features available.

How are you monitoring the pre-nox and post-dpf egt's?

There are 3 EGT sensors in the exhaust stream: pre-NoX, post-NoX / pre-DPF, and post-DPF. All you need is a method for reading the temps from the CAN bus.

I've been using the DashHawk for almost 2 years now (although some of the parameters were enabled after I got the DashHawk). I believe the Edge Insight will also read those parameters.

Cummins has a very easy to understand bulletin that explains what is going on in the combustion process and the aftertreatment system. I will try to remember to grab the #s off of it tommorrow. It also has some timeline info on emmission standards, urea injection and operation of the systems on the big rigs as well as a bit on the Dodge.
