Thanks. Yesterday, I changed the filter at 15,000 miles and the bottom of the filter housing was spotless, the filter seemed to be in good shape with the rootbeer color. The pressure drop across the filter from the schrader inlet at the filter and the port on the injection pump was 1. 5 psi drop before changing. However, the new filter does make a slight difference in the idle smoothness so I guess I will not let filters go past 15K.
Thinking of oil filter ?, The top or canister will screw off the filter housing on the Fuel filter No need for a hack saw . Ron Bissett in Metro Louisville KyOriginally posted by DMC
Take a hacksaw and cut the housing off the filter if you want to see what it removed from your fuel. This will help you to consider shortining your interval to change, until it appears cleaner.
10k is enough miles for me to feel good about changing the fuel filter, easy to remember at every other oil change.
Good Luck
