I am in the middle of changing my fuel filter and have a problem. This is the first time I have done this so bear with me. I got the old filter off and swapped over the drain and water sensor, no big deal. I filled the new one with diesel and let it soak for about 15 minutes. I then dumped a little off to eliminate spillage, it was about 3/4 full when I put it on. I then opened the fuel bleed bolt and started pumping the fuel pump primer lever and nothing is happening. There is hardly any resistance on the lever, so far I have pumped it about 100 times and still no fuel is coming out the bleed hole. The truck ran great before I did this, so I assume the fuel pump is working as advertised. Anybody had this happen to them? Am I doing something wrong or do I need a new fuel pump? Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks

Never mind. After digging out my manual, I found by actually reading my manual, I had to bump the engine over 90* and the fuel pump primer lever worked like it was suppose to. Live and learn...

You found out the same way that I did. Another tip is to look at the old filter Before you through it in the trash. You might want to pull the old Oring off the motor and unscrew the part that holds the heater in place - On the 3rd change I tossed the filter without looking and then discovered that the post you screw the filter onto was missing and the heater was hanging loose. On the old filter there was a male to male hallow post that holds the heater up in place and the filter then screws to it. I guess mine wiggled loose and stayed attached to the filter instead of the block.
