I am fixing to BOMB my fuel system a bit but I need help with a couple things.
I am installing the Carter 100gph 15psi pump back at the tank and running -8AN line up to the filter canister. I will only run the one pump (no pump at the engine). I have a 2001 with the filter canister that has the large screw-on lid. Question: What is the best way to connect my -8AN line to my filter canister port, which is 12x1. 5mm? I am contemplating drilling and tapping the canister for a larger inlet port but not sure what thread or size to go with. I want to do straight vs. tapered NPT with gasket since I think you have a shallow depth to work with.
I looked all the way through my fat Aeroquip catalog but I already knew they don't have any 12x1. 5mm to -8AN adapters. I remember when this topic came up before it seems someone found this adapter from Parker or Earls or else had them custom made. Unfortunately the search engine on this forum doesn't work worth beans so I cannot find the thread (at LEAST 1 year ago).
Now my 2nd question: What type of fitting is on the back of the Autometer oil pressure & boost gauge? Is it 1/16" NPT? It looks like straight (not tapered) thread. Are there any adapters to jump from that thread to -4AN? I am wanting to use my mechanical fuel pressure gauge in-cab which has the male -4AN but connect it to the small nylon tube like that on an oil pressure gauge. If that is possible. There is no way I'd have room for a 1/4" line to my dash pod.
Thanks for the help.
