WRONG. I guess. Filled the truck up 175 miles ago and the guage took about 10 minutes to come up to almost full. Then I went to the store and shut it down. Upon starting it again it was half a tank. now it is saying it is empty. all of these miles where in town. By the way when I filled up the guage was showing 1/8 of a tank but I could only fit 15 gallons into the tank, and that was to the top of the filler neck. I has been flucuating like this for about a week. This morning I started the truck to let it warm up some while I got my coffee and it said it was empty, I then came back outside and the guage showed almost 3/4 of a tank. I have only drove about 15 miles today and it is back to empty... .....

What is the problem with this thing??????????need info fast and the easiest way to fix it... .

The fuel module is notorious for going bad. First thing is to get it out - drop the tank or raise the bed. Then maybe the float is bad, or it is hitting on the side, or bad wires. All conditions have been seen by members - myself included on my '95.

You need the sending unit that is on the fuel module. Not the whole fuel module. You will need to remove the fuel module from the tank. There is no easy way to fix it. Check for bad wiring. The sending unit is about $70 at the dealer. I think you can get a better price shopping around. There is a large ring gasket that goes around the sending until It probably is ok, but you should replace it because if it leaks you have to remove the fuel module again to replace it.
