Recently I have had diesel in my oil, I can tell because it smells like fuel, and because when I drained my pan at my shop, it drained 1-3 quarts more then what is supposed to be in there, this is an estimate by way of markings on a hose on my container.
I have talked to many people on other forums, and have worked on many trucks, but unfortunatly, have not run into this problem before, ive been studying the site, and my service manuals/repair disks, but havent found my answer...
I have alot of people telling me its my 370 injectors that have gone bad, so today I ordered DDP3's from one of my distributers. Having heard this before and read this before, I was sure this was the issue untill about an hour ago, when I called piers to ask them about a overflow valve which hasent been replaced ever.
I called a guy from piers, and he was certain it is my lift pump causing this to happen, and that there was no way injectors would do this, and for my truck to run normal. Thing is, my lift pump is brand new with only 10k on it. .
My truck does not smoke alot. . only when I want it to by way of throttle, upon startup and idle, there is a little gray smoke, but nothing while idling. My temps are in good shape, so a cracked or blown head is probably not the cause. .
What do you guys think?? My truck is down, and I need it back up to snuff asap just like everyone else.
Any advice would be appriciated.
Thanks!
