Hi all,

I am looking at replacing injectors. What do you recommend to increase power and still have some fuel savings? The best distributor in Western Canada? Piers?

Let me know. Thanks.

Don

Hi Don

My first up grade I put 275 injectors in I am still running them thy give you about 10 to 20% more power and they did not hurt my mileage.

I have tried others and I go back to the 275’s

I hear that Banks are coming out with there own they are suppose to be more power and improve mileage.

I do not know the cost.

reddge, he has a 12v, not 24. ;)

The 370 marine injectors are a great power boost. Since you have the 160 pump, you may need to also get a set of 181, or 191 delivery valves. , to make those injectors work well.

If your transmission is bone-stock, I would suggest a different cam plate first. The 47RH trannys won't take as much power as a later model with a 47RE will.

With all of my engine mods together, I've gained almost 2 mpg. Not bad considering I've added approx. 130hp. :D

Depends a lot on how you drive though.

Only heard good things about Piers. :D I have one of their turbos. :D

370s are by far the best bang for your buck if smoke and haze aren't concerns. I did have a set of 215 injectors before the 370s and they were just a waste of time for me as I was after more power.

My mileage did go up with both sets of injectors. I can get close to 21 mpg if I drive easy and cruise around 65 on the highway. But cruising at 75 mph still gets me 17-18 mpg.

Call Piers @ PDR, He has some "new" injectors he's been working on.

Ask him about the injectors Jim Fulmer and Michael Watkins are running.

I would give Lenny a call and also ask Piers about the injectors that MDW was referring to.

As far as fuel savings, the 370's will not help with that. I'm thinking of bumping the truck to a little smaller injector myself to regain some fuel economy. I was asking Mark @ PDR about a set of EDM's and during our conversation he mentioned the 370's will cost you 1-1. 5 MPG's. I know some guys claim to have picked up fuel economy with 370's but that has certainly not been the case with the few friends I know running them.

I guess the MPG issues depends on how many stops & starts you have in everyday driving. I noticed no change at all on highway mpg, but it dropped a bit if I drive "downtown" all of the time. Do 370's smoke? Just last Friday night at our local TDR coffee night, Torque this asked me: "Does that cloud always follow you around?" :-laf

My highway milege was the only thing that improved. Intown mileage went down as I tend to get easily annoyed by idiot drivers and they get a cloud or two.

my trucks milage didnt change much with the 370's, they do smoke a lot though. i can get you some custom edm's for less than the price of 370's if you want a clean burning injector. if your intrested just pm me.

:-laf It seems like tailgating is the norm @ commuting times of the day. My threshold of "smoke" is when we're all doing over 60, they're following so close that I can't see their headlights ... :--) ... "pardon me everyone back there, but I'm gonna create some soot. " :-laf

Headlights? Heck, I had someone so close behind me, I couldn't see their HOOD. And I have a flatbed, no tailgate.

Did they get a soot bath? Better believe it. Blackout time. They didn't get within 1/2mi. of me then. :D Quick learner. :-laf :-laf
