Freightliner FL50/60 fuel economy

If you all would guilt driving them nasty old big trucks than big brother would lower the price of fuel. Our great free Government will make us drive Honda civics or else.

The mandated ethanol in the gas is a real winner. Fuel economy suffers and the cost of everything mildly connected to corn skyrockets. Way to go. Two examples are the cost of beef and of course a good 'ol ear of corn in season. :{

And food shortages in the poor countries who use corn as the primary staple of their diet.

The only thing ethanol actually accomplishes is increase handouts to the nation's federal farmers in the cornbelt and buy votes for slimy politicians in those states.

Another brain dead idiot solution to a non-problem by the blow-dried empty suits who pretend to govern our formerly great nation.

You must be brewing the high octane stuff. Can it be used to increase Cetane level in diesel fuel?

quite possibly, I was talking to one the guys where I used to work about the Alaskan oil he said that it is so good that they have to mix some crap oil to it to make it easier to refine. Sounds weird but this bubba carries his diplomas around in a truck he has so many. I think that we need to get off on DINO fuels JMO and find something else. So we dont need the RAG HEAD oil

HB... .

Brilliant!!!!!!!!Oo.

I love it!;)

The price of field corn is being driven up by ethanol, thereby increasing costs of feeding corn to livestock. That raises overall food costs. Sweet corn for human consumption is a very small portion of the market.

When uncertainty of crude oil supplies occur as is the case now throughout the raghead middle east the price of crude rises. The price of crude increases the price at every stage of production and delivery resulting in large price increases for motor fuels at the pump.

Increased costs of motor fuels increase the cost of EVERYTHING in America. If raghead terrorist thugs take over every region, not really nations, throughout the middle east all the things we take for granted in America such as food and clothing on the shelves could immediately become disrupted if not completely unavailable.

Most of the blame for this lies with the political and economic morons who voted for the muslim marxist messiah's empty and impossible promises. I don't know if the rest of the world simply knows nobama is an incompetent weakling pretending to be president and know he is impotent in the face of world terrorism and disruption or if he signaled his acquiesence for terrorist takeovers around the muslim world but we have a disaster staring us in the face.

I needed Diesel yesterday and wasn't able to go fetch BioDiesel and didn't have time to make it. So I stopped at a Valero and attempted to fill up at $3. 97 a gallon. OUCH. But to add to insult, they only let you pump up to $75 per credit card transaction. After that you have to go inside and get approval to pump more. Ummmm $75 limit at $3. 97 will not fill up my truck. And if I'm towing my boat, I go way over that limit.

Gonna be a long hot and expensive summer.

Barlow always has a way of blaming the evil socialist, communist folks who run our government or the liberals who vote for them.

It's as though he has a little tape recorder in his brain that automatically loops through his pat answers when certain key words trigger the play button.

I think Barlow has a form of Tourette's Syndrome.

(Gilles de la Tourette syndrome is a disorder of the nervous system that causes a person to make repeated and uncontrolled (involuntary) rapid movements and sounds (vocalizations) called tics. The disorder is commonly called Tourette syndrome. )

He probably got it from too much living on a submarine and possibly the life long exposure to that pine-sol he used to swab the decks.

If HB is wrong, who do you think is to blame?.

Do some investigating. Jimmy Carter ring a bell?. Nobama's agenda and Carters were the same. If the people HB is referring to would lift some basic government restrictions like the ban on offshore drilling we would be off to a good start.

If America were to make the announcement today that they were going to begin tapping some of it's natural resources oil mainly and place it into the world market. You would see a reduction in the price overnight.

America will soon wake up. I hope it hits $200. 00 a barrel/$9. 00 a gallon gas/diesel just to show the idiots that voted for this nut case we call a president who he really is. #@$%!

I really feel it's going to hit that price this time around, in light of all the problems going on in the middle east.

Mac:cool:

Gail,

Sadly, I fear you are correct in your price predictions and socialists like guldump will still be blaming George Bush and Dick Cheney because they once owned or managed companies in the oil industry.

Did you notice . . . guldump could only insult me? He has no understanding whatsoever of economics or politics and therefore has no clue why I wrote what I wrote.

Hardly a Man Barlow,

You sling religious and ethnic slurs, and you think I was insulting you?

Your mother should wash your filthy mouth out with soap.

Boys, play nice. Lets not forget the Wall Street folks bidding up crude when there is no shortage. Remember, O. P. E. C. has not raised the floor on crude for many years. That having been said, drill baby drill.

JH, you have hit the nail on the head !!!

This is in fact the REAL reason why crude and fuel prices that are dependent on crude oil prices are so high... on a DAILY basis, for every ONE barrel of crude oil that is sold for actual refinement, over FIFTY are bought and sold to futures traders with no intent or ability to take delivery, who are simply playing the game to make (or granted possibly lose) money...

So if supply and demand actually influences fuel prices, which barrels will influence prices MORE... the ONE that is bought/sold by the refineries OR the FIFTY that are simply bought/sold for specualtion ???

That's nothing more than nonsense provided to you by the propaganda media. The effects of supply and demand on crude oil, finished gasoline, and finished diesel products is as valid and as absolute as the law of gravity or the rotational direction of the earth.

There are speculators involved in every commodity, have been for probably close to 100 years. Clothing manufacturers who use cotton, corn buyers, rice buyers, electric utilities buying coal, etc. all rely on speculators to ensure they always have adequate supplies available when needed. Farmers and others who sell commodities consider speculators a vital part of their ability to sell their products at good prices.

If you rely on the propaganda media to understand what is happening in your country you will always be misinformed and confused.

I'm completely stumped as to why diesel is so high to begin with.

For my entire life, diesel prices have been lower or level with low grade gasoline. And now the price is comparable to high octane, if not higher.

I've heard every argument under the sun but none make any sense to me whatsoever.

Would you believe the Chinese are buying all the diesel they can get their hands on?

Just rolled back up from YUMA $409. 9 on the I-5 CA. Were payin on both ends!

Maybe they really are trying to sink the ship ! This is an O'bummer! DRILL THE SH_T AND GET THE COUNTRY GOING!!!!!

$4. 3926/US gal in Mission, BC where I work. $4. 7716/US gal in Maple Ridge where I live. I'm about 25 miles east of Vancouver. That is with the Canadian dollar slightly above the US dollar.
