Hello, new to the first gen. I have a fuel leak next to the fuel pump. the housing has some sort of sensor on one end, a fuel line on the top and a threaded plug on the other end. Can't seem to find a drawing telling what this is or what is behind the plug which is leaking. Please help. thanks

There is a seal leaking you can buy a gasket kit but if your not real confident on your skills .You are better off to take it to a pump shop to get done

Ij you are talking about VE fuel injection pump and the leak is between the VE and the engine the pump will have come off. If you take the VE off you might as well reseal it or have it resealed. If you are talking about the lift pump - located at the rear lower drivers side of the engine you can just replace it with a low PSI piston lift pump. The Hungry Diesel Sells them.

Sounds to me like you're describing the KSB solenoid.

This sounds like the leak that I'm having as well. Mine is behind and a little lower than the banjo bolt on the fuel line. It does look like a plug but mine is open with some sort of filter material in the open end. Is this how it is supposed to be? Any more information on this would be appreciated.
