2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission fuel leak

Mine just started leaking around the fuel filter also! Going to change out the filter tomorrow and see if I can figure out exactly where. Is this the new ULSD?

the new grade fuel, ultra low sulfer diesel. has less lubricity then older diesel and causes havoc on rubber seals in the fuel system. It only contains 15PPM sulfer.

You can replace the o-ring in the top of the filter canister. You can goggle it "dodge diesel fuel heater leak" and find several you tubes on it. Beware-some of the guys are hacks, but seem to get the job done. I believe there is a write up in one of the past TDRs. Essentially, you take the filter canister off and remove the filter. On the top of the canister, you'll see several screws holding in the fuel heater. Once you remove those, the heater comes out. Replace the o-ring with an appropriately sized AC o-ring and reassemble. Auto Zone has a set of o-rings for a couple of bucks. Just match it up. I believe that it's a #10. But, not all manufacturers refer to them that way. Geno's also has a plug that basically removes the fuel heater. I do not recommend that. The o-ring is too easy to replace. BTW, Dodge won't do it. As simple as it is, it's not an authorized repair. They want to replace the entire canister with something else and charge you accordingly. I am not aware that there are any factory or after market parts available. They quit making the fuel filter canister long ago.
