I would like to install a Fuel Pressure gauge at the inlet of the fuel filter. I have a 2007. 5 with the 6. 7. I would like to know how my fuel pump (in the fuel tank) is doing plus I intend to install the XX-Fuel filters before the main fuel filter and would like to ensure they are not plugged.

My three questions are: Is there a quick "T-fitting" that can installed at the inlet of the fuel filter that would make the install of a gauge with a 1/8 NPT (male) inlet dead simple? I was looking at the Banjo Snubber at Geno's but I'm uncertain if it will work.

Would it be too silly to install a second gauge on the outlet of the filter as well?

Does anyone have experience with "Jegs" fluid filled gauges? I was going to buy "Earl's" but the "Jegs" gauges are "on-sale" for $15. At that price I am considering installing two, one on either side of the factory fuel filter.

Any input would be appreciated,

Thanks,

Glenn

I recommend adding the gauge post filters, you want to know how much pressure the CP3 is getting, not how much pressure the filter is getting.

CUMMINS BANJO SNUBBER (12MM) - ('98. 5-'12)-Dodge Cummins Diesel Truck Accessories – Geno’s Garage should work just fine.

Look at the GDP link in my sig for how my fuel filter setup is installed.

That banjo fit the CP3 inlet connection at the CP3? Geno's doesn't give much info. I'm planning to add a fuel pressure gauge and I want to read pressure right at the CP3 without doing a hack job. This banjo bolt is what I'm looking for as long as it fits the CP3 inlet.

Thanks,

Earl

All the banjo's on the fuel system are the same, so CP3 inlet or filter outlet will work.

I'm hoping this has been done before. My concern with mounting the gauge right at the inlet of the CP3 is twofold. Is the vibration created by both the engine and the CP3 hazardous to the gauge's health, meaning will it vibrate the gauge to death? I was thinking of mounting a gauge at the outlet of the filter for two reasons one it would be a little more isolated from the CP3 and it would be oriented so it would be easy to read.

Mounting it on the CP3 would require a 90 degree elbow so the gauge is facing up, no big deal I'm sure, but I'm still a little worried about vibration.

Anyone out there with some experience in doing this?

As always, thanks in advance,

Glenn

Here is how I mounted the senders for the dash gauges

</a>

The fuel pressure sender can be sen in the lower right hand corner ( the other one is the boost sender) I used Isspro gauges with electric sender. It's much easier to run wires. No issues so far. Shad
