I have a 98 12v 5 speed 4x4. When it was stock except for 4" exhaust I got what I thought was a #11 fuel plate (ebay special:eek: ). I got the 11 because I didn't see any warnings about a pyrometer or stock clutch that the #10 comes with. Shortly after I completely shattered my clutch into hundreds of pieces! Then a little while later went the turbo exhaust housing. Cracked in 5 places.

Question #1: Did I really get a # 11?

I put in a 14cm wastegated housing, boost, and pyro and a Luk Pro Gold clutch. My first pull of the season last year I smoked the h#!! out of this clutch. Smelled good for about 10 hrs. Since then I have put in 2 trannies and 60,000 miles mostly towing a 22ft enclosed trailer and the clutch works fine. I am ready to add a set of 370's and a larger compressor housing.

Question #2: Will this clutch hold the new power?

Question #3: Should I get a different plate?

I would like to be in the 400-500 hp range and I LOVE to sled pull! Any help would be great thanks. Oo.

Is it a "legit" #11 or a homemade one from a stock plate? TST plates are one piece. OEM are riveted together. Did you slide it forward at all, or put it in the stock position?

I'm no expert, but what the clutch rated for power-wise? Given you like to drag a sled, I suspect it won't take 500hp.

FWIW.

From what I have seen there are not to many clutches that will hold up to sled pulling other than Double Disks. I would look into a DD from SBC or Enterprise if your going to sled pull a lot. I learned real fast that a single disk, no matter what the HP rating, will not hold up to a sled pull.

As for the plate, it sounds like you got something a little heavier on fuel than a #11. I would just run the new bombs and see how the clutch holds up. The worst that can happen is it will slip, but IMO, I believe it will slip with the 370s and more air. Only one way to find out. :)

If I remember right it does have the rivets so it must be homemade. I did put it in the stock location. I have no idea what the power ratings for the Luk clutch is.
