Sorry if this has been answered along the line, but i don"t have all TDR issues. How do you eliminate the fuel preheater on a 94CTD. I haven't had any issues with the heater plug shorting yet as the truck only has 80,000mi, yes i am the original owner, i just want to aviod the potential problem by eliminating the pre heater . This truck does not see winter driving. S. Patyna. 94 Laramie SLT 2WD. Auto 4:10 gears. BD fuel plate/230hp-605TQ. BD 3 piece Exaust manifold. 4" exhaust. KDP fixed. Air Lift suspension. Autometer Gauges. Original Paint (mint), Led Tailights, Cab Roof Lights, High mount Cab Brake Light. 24MPG at 60mph. and not for sale. ---Thanks anyone.

You can do a search should find a lot of info. The main thing to do is take the heater out of the prefilter then you have to something else which I don't remember (sorry). If the fuel heater connector disconnects from the prefliter housing just disconnect it.

BTW I live in a warm climate and I have almost 250,000 on mine without problems.

fuel heater

Thanks Bill for your input, you're right i guess i could just unplug the preheater, and put a rubber booty overboth sides of the where they connected to prevent deteriation, that would probably be the easier way,as long as it's disabled. I live in Alberta Canada, and winters get pretty ugly, i have driven the Diesel ocassionally in winter a number of years back, but with 2wd traction is very limited with 600 torque, i just keep it garaged and drive a 99 Dakota 4x4 v8 through most of the winter. -------S. The heater assembly unscrews. Remove the sediment bowl, remove the heater, and screw the bowl back on where the heater was. I think it takes a large metric allen wrench to get the heater off. Do a search, there are a few great posts (with pictures!) on here somewhere.
