Fuel Pressure and Boost, Using the same gauge

Is there any way to do this? I have a nice setup with my pyro and boost on the column. I really don’t want to add another gauge, and would like to monitor the fuel pressure once in a while. Is there a way to "switch" the boost hose to the fuel pressure hose electronically? Some sort of a solenoid? I would like to have a small toggle switch next to the boost gauge to switch between the two settings. Any ideas?

I would think you would have to have an electric boost gauge. Di-Pricols are mechanical.

I would have a fuel pressure isolator in line. They are used for mechanical gauges. Like this (pic and info is on right side of page):

I just need a way to switch between the two lines.

The isolator takes the pressure signal from the fuel line and converts it so you don't have pressurized fuel entering the cab. The fuel pressure gauge I had from Autometer had a line filled with some type of fluid to give a pressure reading at the gauge. You could have a gauge that used an electric signal from the isolator, but I don't know who makes one. The you would need a boost gauge that had an isolator and used an electric signal as well. Then you could put a switch on it to go back and forth.

Hmmm... . I didn't know that there was fluid in the line after the isolator... . I thought it was just air pressure. That changes everything...

What If i had two isolators? Then I could fill the line between the gauge and the isolators with the fluid, hook one isolator to the fuel line, and the other to the boost line. Then the other ends of the isolators would go into the 3-way valve.



However that would only work if the boost pressure would work the isolator... And I can find a 3-way 12VDC solenoid...



This may just be a waste of time... Those isolators are spendy.

Get the mechanical gauge and hide it... like in the ash tray or something, so you only see it when you want to.

Your best option is to get a 3-gauge pillar mount and use the mechanical guage with isolator for the fuel pressure. It would be very messy to try and switch back and forth with the boost gauge with an isolator for the fuel involved. We have Di-Pricol fuel pressure gauges and excellent diaphram isolators for your installation as well as colored 3-gauge mounts.
