Last year about this time I replaced my lift pump and overflow valve (Tork Technology) due to erratic/low fuel pressure. I have my snubber screwed into the to top of the fuel filter where the air bleed screw used to reside. Then I have NPT to -3 AN to a pre-made braided line leading over to the driver inner fender well to AN/NPT tee. One branch is the AN line in, the NPT branch has my autometer electric sender screwed in and the other AN branch has a cap on it and is used for my air bleed.



Anyway, lately my fuel pressure has been topping out at 20psi under load and idle has been bouncing around 10-15psi. The gauge always has a little bit of bounce, but lately its been more pronounce. For whatever reason I started to formulate "excuses" for this behavior in my head. They ranged from POS sender, to POS snubber, to POS gauge, to POS lift pump, to POS overflow valve. Turns out none of these were true. I WAS THE POS for not trusting the gauge and servicing the fuel filter when the gauge said too! I changed the fuel filter this weekend because it had been 8 months +/-. Well turns out 8 months might have been about a month too long. After changing the filter everything is back to normal. 20psi at idle and 40 psi under load.



As an aside, the Tork Tek overflow valve is performing flawlessly as is the lift pump from Geno's and the Autometer gauge and sending unit are up to the task.



Lesson in all of this, trust your gauges. Always check the mirror first before looking elsewhere and even the mighty 12V can benefit from a fuel pressure gauge.
