Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Fuel Pressure Install

My question, is this the only way to hook up the fuel pressure gauge on a 97 12 valve, by drilling & tapping the fuel inlet fitting on the inj pump for a 1/8" NPT and install your fitting?

Does the fuel pressure gauge not come with everything I would need to install this on my 97 12v?



Also what is the consensus on the best, most reliable gauges?



I've done the KDP, and want to install boost, pyro, fuel, and transmission gauges next on my stocker with 160,000 miles.

The gauges are generic within there pressure range , its the retailer that adds what you need for your specific application .
Brands are just a choice , generally using a major / known brand should be ok , as long as you stay away from chineez like stuff .
Go to links here , or anywhere that they cater to dodge / Cummins , they will know there product & what you need .
You can put a fitting in the filter , without drilling taping , I went with what your talking about just because thats was available when I went to do , I also thought about before the filter , to tell when to change it .

Do they not make a pre-drilled banjo bolt for the 12 valve?

yes they do



stay away from sw gauges...



they used the be the ind standard but they must be made in china now

autometer makes a really nice gauge and summit ships for free



you may want to spend the extra cash and put a remote (larger volume/better filtering) filter on it too

you could also get quality pressure gauges from WW Grainger or Mc Master Carr too.
