It's been $1. 39 forever (it seems) at my regular two stations (Exxons in Austin), but that Shell on TX29 between Liberty Hill and Burnet is always 10 cents less than the stations either direction of it. Just too damn far to go and save $3. 60...

been paying 1. 71+ for the last two years or so here in Calif... just got back from Parker and other no where towns in Az and paid 1. 32... I was Oo. Oo. for joy... . then came back home to reality!

Just out of curiosity:confused: Which is cheaper to produce gas or diesel? I would imagine diesel is cheaper but they charge us the same price as unleaded:mad:

we have been buying off the rack

it cost . 8936 per gallon as of 9/26.

on 9/30 it dropped 2 more cents

I haven't got the price for this week yet.

I go thru several thousand gallons a week

I was told by someone in the business that although diesel is cheeeeeeeper to produce, that when they produce gas they get more after products, many different things so they get much more out of a gallon of crude going to gas than they do a gallon of crude going to diesel.

I always thought the same thing, much cheaper to make diesel, which it is, due to less processing but they get all the fancy stuff that sells for the big $$$$$$$ when they make gas

fishjack1,I known It use to be, but I think the government's put so many regulations on it that It may cost as much to refine as gas,But It seams that if it cost . 02 to improve It they charge the consumers . 05.

TWestphal, you're getting robbed

I just paid 1. 44 at a Holiday in Eagan. Right across Hwy 55, at the Kwik Trip, it was also 1. 44.

Amoco on Robert St. in W. St. Paul was 1. 59. Conoco in Long Lake was 1. 69.

You need to shop around, try closer to the metro.

I've noticed that this hapens to diesel prices in Minnesota every year at this time. At least for the 5 years that I've owned a diesel truck.

I honestly don't know why, but if I had to guess I'd say that this is the time of year that the Koch refinery starts making home heating fuel - which is probably made using some of the same equipment and capacity as diesel. That would reduce the supply, which would result in a higher price if demand was the same. That;s my guess anyways. Anyone of the forum work at the Koch refinery? Are there any other refineries in the Minneapolis area?

Edit: It's too bad these guys don't do diesel prices too
