I think it might be time to roundup all the Tofu Farting, Tree Huggers to the streets and smoke them good with our trucks. Maybe all the cry babies that think are truck stink well start to injoy them a little more. :D :-laf I read some where but I don't remember where, is that the rise of diesel fuel prices will push us diesel owns to use Bio-Diesel.

:) :--) i know exactly what you mean, this diesel prices really suck .

i pay $2. 37 per gallon on my 2004 Oo.

Left work today, and to my shock, the 2 stations on the corner had completely different prices. $2. 299 $ $2. 599. What gives with that. Same prices on all other grades, just a 30 cent difference in diesel. Can't see how the higher price guy can sell any at that price... Scott

JSooter they finally ran a story after I called and told them what was going on. I talked to Jeff St. John 3 times yesterday, had no idea diesel was that high. I gave him a couple of links so he'd have some information to do that article. He was going to quote me in that article but forgot to ask me how to spell my name

According to the article, the Pacific Northwest seems to be one of the highest places in the nation for diesel. R

Looks like those of us in the Pac-NW are taking it in the shorts. Well at least the wallet. Never thought I would see the day that diesel would be 40% higher that gasoline. .

Here in Kalifornia the price is 2. 49 and rising!!! Just think, I told my wife if we bought the CTD we would save money on fuel because diesel was so cheap to produce as compared to unleaded fuel, oops.

Oh boy! I get my truck back from the Dealer tomorrow. . They led me to believe that Star was sending all new injectors but... DC told them to throw a can of something that will be a miracle and make the mileage improve and the white smoke go away. . I guess we will see. I would just like to get the mileage my 04 got..... The funny thing is, I left the truck on Monday, they claim to have documented the smoke problem and the mileage problem, yet I was there tonight and checked the mileage and the truck hasn't logged on a single mile in the entire week it has been in the shop. Hmmmmm I can't wait until I see what it is that DC had them put in my tank. Details to come! Im taking a 500 mile run in a week to Calif and back. Ill see if anything improves.
I wonder what DIESEL will be going for tomorrow. I need 1/2 a tank. . That should cost about $100. !!!!

PJ,

I had the 18-037-04 reflash done at burlingame dodge without hastle and am now getting around 14 city/ 21 freeway both overhead and handcalc. Half tank now runs $54. 00.

To TSpecht:

To answer your question. The major oil companies are propritory. At least in my neck of the woods. Shell does not sell to Texaco & Texaco does not sell to Mobil/Exxon. At this point a boycott of a brand is worth a try. However this membership is not numerious enough to make a difference. The truckers are the main consumers. I would think that some one in the membership would know how to contact a larger % of them. It is worth a try... ... ... .

That is at Calif prices! We are going up 5 to 10 cents a day here. I cant imagine what this is going to do to the retail prices in the stores soon...

I did some checking on fuel prices today. I live on the Ohio WV. border. Fuel in Ohio in my area is running $1. 99- $2. 09 Regular unleaded is $1. 88 to 1. 99 in WV. I drive the extra few miles and fill up in Ohio everytime.

The station I usually fill up at was $1. 99 9 this morning at 6:15 am on the way to work. This afternoon same station, price jumped to $2. 09 9. Another station (truck stop) I some time fill at, yesterday was $1. 89 9 this afternoon noticed it was $1. 95 9. Cheap compared to what some are paying, but still hurts. :( I really don't see why anybody would want a new HD diesel truck with the prices the way they are now, unless you have to have it for work purpose's. Pleasure trips I don't even count, because that is something we can control.

Tony

This morning the station that was $2. 09 9 dropped to $2. 05 9 another Exxon station down the road is still at $1. 99 9. This crap is crazy.

I'am running my own boycott. I parked the truck in December and haven't driven it since.

My Toyota MR2 gets over 30MPG, and by the way, it is an 86, now 19 years old and the only failure I ever had was a $30 temp switch.

Your are right though, it won't pull my trailer.

I've been buying fuel at the local indian reservation for 1. 89 a gallon, saving almost 50 cents a gallon over the non indian establishments. I never thought I'd be "relieved" to pay 1. 89 for fuel... ... I bought the truck because it got better economy than my Tacoma V6, and fuel was 30 cents a gallon cheaper than gasoline. At this point, I'm seriously considering parking the truck, and buying a rice burner to drive back and forth to work in. I can't even believe that the truckers haven't just parked in downtown DC, and walked away.

I spoke to some truckers a few months ago, and they stated that each day they drive thier truck, they lose more money. Kinda stupid that we don't just punch a few holes in our own land, and pull up the oil we need..... oh. I forgot, the tree huggers would hate that.

On a side, the dealer that I bought my truck from was selling three to four CTD's a month for ever, until now..... they have 9 countem NINE. Three Dually's, a standard cab 2500, and 5 3500 SRW QC 4x4's..... They can't move them because of the cost of fuel.

I commute 1000 miles a week to work, and it's really hurting my pocket book!

Fuel here in Centennial/Aurora is as high as $2. 20 with a low of $2. 05. I haven't looked very hard 'cause these prices are giving me serious pause about whether I am going to buy a CTD! It really bites wondering if fuel costs can be a reason not to buy something as useful as that truck!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder how much of an impact on price the new sulfur rules are having... Like the new fuel actually does anything for the air...
