The last time I bought fuel it was $1. 49 9/10, I filled up yesterday at the same station (in MA) and it was $1. 63 9/10. Anyone else seeing this kind of rip-off? .

The price of diesel shot up 20 plus cents here a few weeks ago. Most stations in SLO are around $1. 90 now. I try to fill up on the way to or from So Cal when I can. There's a few stations that are always cheaper than here.



We've noticed a trend in the price fluctuation here on the Central Coast and in Southern Cal. Pay attention to the gas and diesel price. When the price of diesel goes up, gas goes down and vice versa. Gas is around $1. 60 now when it was at $1. 90 a month ago. Why the drastic switch month to month I don't know, but it's quite obvious.

I filled up on Monday in W. Iowa at the tune of $1. 49 / gal.

Yeah, happened here in Jersey One Sunday it was $1. 41, the next Sunday it $159.

MA has high fuel prices, plus a limited number of truck stops. $1. 63 is cheap in MA, I have been paying $1. 68 and $1. 69 for the last couple of weeks. I just went up to Manchester NH filled up for $1. 61.

I drove past two different stations today that were advertising diesel at $1. 83 9/10 a gallon .

Up here in the land of the screwed it is $2. 40 to $2. 50 per US gal

Fuel prices are generally driven by supply and demand. Typically, gasoline prices are high during the peak demand months of May-September and Diesel prices peak in the winter because Diesel is very close to home heating oil.



When home heating oil rises, diesel prices rise because they are using they same cut of the oil stock for home heating oil and diesel fuel.



Also, crude oil prices play a role as well. As of yesterday the spot price for crude was approaching $35. 00/barrel. A very high price.



Expect diesel prices to stay high and perhaps go higher before dropping around May.

Here in upstate NY It was $1. 709 on monday and $ 1. 799 on wednesday. It was only $ 1. 589 @ weeks ago

MA is cheaper than CT and I live in Union, CT right on the border and go to Jack's in Sturbridge, he is always 10-15 cents cheaper than at the truck stops. He had been $1. 49 9/10 forever. I can save $6 on a tankful by driving 10 miles extra.

In AZ you can find prices from $1. 46 to $1. 77 in the Phoenix metro area.

I saw on the news last night some people complaining about the rising fuel costs. But I see every day people driving like gas was as cheap as it ever was. When I see traffic lighten up and people slowing down, then I'll really believe prices have gone high enough to affect people.

I fill up at the Pilot near where I work and the price has been pretty consistent at $1. 49/gal since Thanksgiving. During the Christmas season I saw average prices of $1. 26/gal in Oklahoma and $1. 33 in SW Missouri. If I'm desperate I can get it at the local Drivers Truxtop here for $1. 45, but you have to be willing to put up with the crack wh***s that hang out there. It's all #2 down here, and I assume (dangerous, eh?) "auto diesel" is the same as "big boy diesel".

Its running around $1. 54 here. I always heard that it was cheaper to refine diesel, but that may not be a true statement.

I also noticed though, that gasoline went up around the same time. It is running $1. 65 or so here.



I am starting to believe what I heard someone mention the other day, that they are fluctuating gas prices wildly to deaden us to the fact that they are moving to stabilize at the $2. 00 mark. They bump it up, then drop it, bump it, drop it, and all the while eventually moves higher, but by then no one complains as much.

Fuel prices are climbing and it's driving me crazy! It's costing me an extra $200 a month at these prices compared to back in November.



I knew prices would go up during the colder months but this is crazy! I'm paying anywhere from $1. 60 to $1. 70 per US Gallon and it looks like it's going to keep climbing. Shoot even regular gas prices are running $1. 55 - $1. 65 around here; unheard of for this time of year.



One or all of these 3 things needs to happen : OPEC needs to start pumping more oil, We need to start pumping more, or the Chinese need to go back to riding bicycles.



I read in a CNN article that the refiners in Europe that used to sell to us are now shipping it to China. The reason is that more and more folks own vehicle over there. I can't imagine what fuel costs will be if an additional Billion people got autos.

Diesel in these parts went up several weeks ago, now it appears that gas is on its way up!! Still cheaper in Ariz. though!
