As far as "easier", i'm not sure. A step ladder and patience to reach in there and get it done should be all you need. It is a pain though and you'll have a sore back when you're done. Nothin a few cold ones won't cure. I eliminated the quick disconnect and just put a piece of rubber fuel line with hose clamps down to the metal line. Mine was leaking and causing a hard start condition. The o-rings in there were pretty chewed up so make sure they're replaced.
 
Better not be any pressure. Just a return line. Make sure you use quality fuel hose. Lot of heat and vibration.
