So I installed new s&s torque master injectors this past friday. All has been great since the install. Exhaust smell has drastically been cut back and power is better.

This morning I went to fire up the truck engine cranked with no start. Started on second attempt.
This was an issue that I dealt with, with the old injectors. Engine seemed a little louder and rougher sounding today.
Could I be having an issue with the relief valve on the rail?

It's hard to say without additional info. I would want to monitor the rail pressure when it does not want to start. That would be a good place to start after you confirm all the connectors you removed during the install are clean and latched properly.

I will get rail pressure readings tomorrow.
No codes areally thrown. Idle is better now and running better. The injector tick at initial startup is gone. What all is returning fuel to the tank? Injectors, rail and cp3?

Define what "new" means in the case of the injectors, new tips on reman injectors is just a problem waiting to happen.

If you haven't tested the rail PRV that would be a good next step. Don't have an idea of miles or year but by now the 3rd gens are wanting an FCA.

Supposed to be all new s&s torque master injectors from engineered diesel.
It's a 06 qcsb 4x4 auto 166xxxmi
There is no surge at idle which was a symptom of fca on my duramax

Hard starts are also a symptom of a malfunctioning FCA.

Pull the line and banjo bolt from the top of the PRV and bag the line end to catch the return diesel. Clean out the PRV well and dry it. Start the engine and unplug the FCA for about 30 seconds then check the PRV well, if isn't still dry the PRV is popped.

With an 06 the VC gasket is always a consideration if you have not replaced it lately. Might want to get a contribution percentage test and some rpm drop #'s to see if something jumps out.
