i recently put a new sending unit in the tank on a friend of mines truck, then afterwards i realized that the plug on new sending unit wont plug into the wiring harness on the truck, i called dodge and they said that there is an adapter for this but when they sent it to me it wont work and they also said that the sending unit they sent to me is the only one availabe. does anyone know if there is an adapter or am i going to have to change the whole sending unit again, the dealers around here are a bunch of pricks so i dont know what to do. any help is greatly appreciated

What year truck did you work on? If you replaced the whole module in the tank then the connector varies depending on year. If you only replaced the sending unit on the side of the tank module then it should fit because it only has two spade connectors.

i think that it is a 96 i am not for sure my friend already had the parts, i replaced the whole thing because that is what he had. i think that i am going to have to change the whole thing again

If you didn't throw the original tank module away, then all you need is the sending unit. It attaches to the side of the tank module with two screws. Just two spade lugs for the electrical. It should be about $70 or so. The connectors on top of the fuel module vary by year. My '95 has four wires. A '97 has six. I don't know about the others.
