My 95 is leaking fuel when full and upon further inspection I found the top of the sending unit where the fuel lines come out are metal and rusted out. Dodge wants $425 dollars for the thing. Is there any solution you guys have come with thats a little more economical? Thanks.

I just gave away my old module to another member. Do a search on draw straws, I believe that will point you in the right direction.

My old 96 did the same thing. What I did was get a vulcan draw straw and install that in the gutted factory housing. worked great and was way cheaper.

Hello D Thibault. I have the same problem on my 1998. 5. I spoke with the guys at Geno's and they told me using the draw straw would not do the trick. maybe I didn't explain my problem well enough. Anyway, I got some help from another TDR member, and maybe by the middle of next week I'll have my leak fixed. Do you plan on raising your bed or dropping the tank. The manual said if you lift the bed, you can't re-use the bolts, and you have to buy new bolts. Anyone else have experience with this?

Just a thought, but have you checked ensure it is not the rollover/vent valve on top of the tank that is leaking. Mine will leak from time to time when I fill the tank up to the tip top.

We lifted the bed as it was much easier. I have done this many times and reused the bolts and seen no effect. I do put a little blue loctite on them. The top was rusted right off the fuel sending unit where the pipes come out and we decided to go with the tristar fixit system. We have no mods on the truck so the stock lines were sufficient. Thanks for all the help and ideas.

Hello DThibault. Thanks for the tip on the blue loctite for the bed bolts. I'm not familiar with the tristar fixit system. I did a google search but didn't get any good answers.
