You can drill a new hole in the tank and use a bulkhead fitting, for the return line from the FASS, instead of running it into the vent line.

The newer FASS systems return to the larger filler hose, not the vent line, so you can refill with the engine running just fine.

This is absolutely true!! I do it all the time without any issues. I was surprised when I heard that there were models that were designed where you could not do that as I have never had a problem.

I did just get the FASS but it must be the old style as it says you wont be able to fill up while running. I know someone did a mod without drilling the tank. If I cant find it I guess Ill try drilling the tank and using a bulkhead fitting

Well...

I miss quoted... My fass return was plumbed into the tank directly through a bulkhead fitting. Went out and looked at it after you posted the above. I did not install my FASS. When I started to bomb my truck I paid for the gauges and FASS to be done by a shop. NEVER AGAIN!! It is cheaper and is done better when you do it yourself. From now on I will do all mods myself.

You mean to tell me if I move the return to the 2" filling line into the tank, and not the vent, I fill can fill the truck while its running!!!!!!!!!!!!

No major reason, Im just used to keeping it running. When its cold out to warm the truck up, or when its real hot the air could be running

Not crazy about jumping off the expressway after pulling a trailer for 5hrs. at 65mph and shutting off the motor. Also not crazy about waiting for 20min for the motor to cool down to refuel either. -15* outside at 4:00a. m. on my way to work shutting the truck off to fill up stinks to. Other than that i love the thing!!

It is easy

I built a custom module with an extra fitting but the stock module has a spare 3/8 hose barb on top with a piece of tubing running down the outside of the module. There should be a plastic cap on it. You should be able to use it as is but if you want to make it better by reurning the fuel to the top of the tank instead of to the bottom you could purchase a fitting for the module from a member who sells hem. not sure of his name but check the site out i am sure it can be found.

See if you can get the part RM-1002 from the manufacturer. This is the new style return manifold that goes into the filler tube close to the frame so the returned fuel is going back into the tank from the filler tube instead of the vent tube. This should solve your problems. I can't say for a 100% fact that it will because I shut the engine down when I refuel. This is why the return was re-engineered from what I was told.

Don't try that in Ohio unless you want a ticket. Fueling a vehicle while running is illegal as far as I know. Just like it's illegal to fuel a motorcycle while sitting on it. Found that out first hand one day :(
