Fuel Injection Pump

Thanks guys for all of your interest and valuable information. Tried to call Cummins but Robert's in a meeting. What do I have a FOREIGN truck or what????? Interesting information that you gave me HVAC. Now what? Do I go back to the Napa Dealer? HVAC give me a call please. I'll let everyone know what's going on with this FOREIGN truck.

Chuck:D

IT"S RUNNING!!!

I spoke to James at Cummins West today and that smart feller managed to save you $10,000 bucks Chuck!!! Oo. Oo. You have a new name to add to your Christmas card list;)

Chuck's truck is running like new everybody!!! Guess what? His pump is fine:eek:

Everythings fine for that matter.

>They also said it was going to cost $10,000 to replace!

>Are they stupid or what?

Yes, they deffinately are

>Please, I need advice it sure would be appreciated.

You took the truck to the people that have the expertise, not to mention a much better attitude:)

Thanks a LOT to James, the grand puba of all diesel techs:cool: And thanks to Robert for tolerating us peanut diesel drivers :-laf

Cummon don't keep us in suspense... ... ... what was the problem?

Other than the "5-Star" is, at best clueless, and at worst, needed to make a boat payment. :-{}

I, for one, SINCERELY hope Chuck takes the final bill from Cummins West straight to the DC dealer who screwed up, and DEMANDS, loud and CLEAR that any money he paid THEM be refunded, and ANY references to his warranty being voided be purged - as well as a long letter to the DC zone office... ;) :D

KEEP US POSTED!

So now what happens to the warranty restriction issue since the injection pump was not toast? Since the dealer misdiagnosed the problem will DC headquarters be willing to re-enstate the warranty?

The suspense is killing me!!! What fixed his truck? This is like watching the superbowl with a tied score, ball on the 5 yard line, 9 seconds left, and the TV quits!!!!

Nothing Wrong With The Engine

OK, I through myself into this problem cause I hate the dealers and their stonewall, intimidating, BS techniques as well as their ineptness and negligence. I could tell the pump was not the source of the trouble Chuck was experiencing. I think I gave Chuck some good advice before and after. All I'm going to say is it was not the pump, nor was there any problem with the engine mechanically speaking. If Chuck decides to spill the beans then fine, I'm not going to give him up (so to speak).

The lesson here is the "Stealer" has no clue as was mentioned above. A lawyer wouldn't be a bad idea as was also mentioned. I suggested he at least consult with a lawyer. Can you imagine if you went to see a doctor and he said you need a heart transplant. You have the heart transplant only to find the diagnosis was wrong? I think there are damages to be awarded:mad:

In another case of dealer misdiagnosis... ... .

A TDR member in Iowa took his truck in... ... . they claimed he burned up his injection pump with the "orginal" PowerEdge... make a long story short..... truck was taken to Cummins and air bled out of the lines... good as new. In this case I believe the dealer did in fact refund some of the cost incurred... . not sure of the exact amount.
