Chuck, Extremely glad to find out that your truck is back up, and you didnt have to pay that outrageous penalty for actually going to the Dealer for help.

The bottom line here is, that no matter what the problem was, the people we are supposed to trust, and pay the extra dollars for their "EXPERTISE", were UNABLE to correctly diagnose the problem (big or small).

Mistakes happen, thats how we gain our wisdom in life, we've all made stupid ones, so its no big. But for the PROS to drop the ball on you, AND treat you as a liar & a criminal, is a direct shot through the heart of their reputation, and we all just caught the thieving ba$tards red handed.

HVAC really went out of his way here, and deserves a christmas card or two himself!! Very honorable IMO. He helped turn this thing around, because it was looking real bad there for awhile.

Just my 2 cents worth, as reading this one was really gettin to me ( & alot of others as well im sure).

DITTO Shortshift, MAJOR KUDOS go to HVAC. Its guys with his expertise and integrity, that keep me coming back:D . But what the heck was it? A cut pump wire? Thanks HVAC, Jim G.

Great to hear the truck is running..... what was the problem?? Come on... share with us. Even if it was somthing obivious that we all missed it may help out someone else someday. .

Well it looks like you got advise and plenty of help. Now what is the outcome (what was wrong) so we can all learn from this. That is what this site is about.

I'm Backkkkkkkk!

Hey Guys,

I got a call from Chuck this evening. He's going to email a couple pics to me and we will see if Kat Diesel can get them posted on this topic.

He's gonna get back to y'all:)

Shortshift, RBSOB, thanks for noticing my involvment. I really felt sorry for Chuck and his perdicament. Even to the point of anger. I still think there should be some damages with as much expense and trouble Chuck went through. Ol' Chuck is in my hood you might say;) I'm jus takin' care of my peeps:D I'd do the same for you:cool:

Fuel Injection Pump

HVAC, I couldn't get the pictures to download. Thought I'd better let everyone know what happened with the truck. I'll get the pictures to you.

Well guys here's the story. Sit down and make yourselves some popcorn:cool:

The problem with my truck (this realllllly hurts guys) is a $2,000 RAG.

When I was installing my High Ram Air Intake I was trying to be really careful and not get any debris in my intake, so I put a rag in there to protect it from anything getting into the intake. After I was done installing the High Ram that's when the problem occurred, when I started the truck it sucked the rag into the heater of the intake causing my truck not to run properly. Believe me this is not part of old age either. So guys please be careful so you won't have to suffer my embarrassment.

I am still fighting with Dodge as to why they couldn't figure out the problem instead of wanting to charge me $10,000 for the turbo charger and fuel injection pump as they diagnosed that the pump was out. Cummins figured it out in 2 days that the turbo and the injection pump was A okay and I'm back in the truck again and it runs great.

I want to thank all of you guys from the bottom of my heart for all of your concern and advise. Sorry it took me so long to let you know about the outcome. I especially want to thank HVAC for his time and effort and yes, Santa Claus will be good to HVAC. :D

Congrats on getting her running........

Too bad other people knew what happened you could have come up with a really good story!!

Takes a lot of balls to own up to that, I know why it took you so long to post.

The good news is your up and running and I can pretty much assure you'll never make that mistake again. :D

Garrett

Glad you got it back, and its running. I use paper towels now, they burn up easy, and dont wreck things as bad as rags so,I sucked a few rags into one of my snowmobiles, couldnt figure out why it was only running on 1 cyl:D .

Ctingler, that could of happened to anybody. You need to change your handle to "Rag Man"

Believe me... . You're not the first, nor will you be the last to be stymied by a shop rag. ;)

Glad it all worked out OK.

HVAC... . You Da' Man.

That's why the TDR dues are the best $35 I ever spent on my truck.

I would have thought the symptoms would have been lots of smoke, no power , slow acceleration and high turbo boost pressure... . diagnosis : no air or way overfueling. Easy to do after the fact. No computer plug in would have found this one. If the stealer would have just thown the intake into the trash too... they wouldn't have S%!# all over their face. You only stuff rags into the intake of a Detroit that is running away with itself and you can't shut it down because it has finally figured out how to run on it's own oil instead of slobbering all over creation:p Had a neighbor tell me he had to shut down one of his trucks that way one time and it spiit chewed up pieces of rag right out the tail pipe:D Moral of the story, bomb in the winter time so that the grid heater will have a chance to burn off any rags after bombingOo or put a piece of cardboard screwed down with the bolts or duct tape over the openings. Glad it is fixed, but WHAT DID THESE bozos do for 3 weeks and 2 days??????????? We would have had time to crawl in the front bumper and come out the tailpipe and x-ray every bolt in that time.

Ever see the x-ray pics of the man that the surgeon left the clamp in and found it after one week of complaints about pain . Happens all the time to the best of them . We all learn from this . Glad you found it and saved $ . LOL Ron in LOUISVILLE KY:D :D :D

Yeah, that would be a hard one to have to fess up to. . It shows your character to be able to let us all know about it. One thing we know for sure. That wont happen to you again... Ever!

We all learn from this stuff, and it does happen to us all.

So, How does it run with your mods now?? Should run pretty decent.
