Fuse 51 blew twice

Fuse 51 powers some of the instrument cluster functions, including power door lock when the truck is not running, the radio, under-hood light, and data-link connector. It's blown twice on me, and sets an A3 code (from memory, I could be wrong) on the instrument cluster test. A3 is missing voltage to the cluster, which is no surprise. I replaced the fuse and it blew again later the same day. I replaced it again yesterday, and so far, all is working well.



Any ideas? Truck is still under 3/36 warranty, so a trip back to the dealer is not a problem, but would like to have a better understanding of the problem before I give it to them.

I remember a few weeks ago I read a thread about some kind of a wire harness problem that was causing under-dash fires. You might want to try and search and see if the problem could apply to your truck. Could be an intermittant short. I'll search for it also and if I find the thread I'll edit this posting to point to it.

John Cooper is right... ... lets add... that the problem is around the tilt wheel... . and that it is pinching the wire loom...
