You are what you eat

I recently signed up for a lifetime membership at a shooting school for when I retire. Now, I'm starting to receive emails regarding Adgenda 21(?), which, as I understand will confiscate our weapons.

For the school, I'd like to buy a new 9mm. semi-auto handgun (Glock-19 or possibly a S&W M-P 9mm. ) I have quite a few revolvers (S&W-. 357's/. 38's). If the government is going to steal our weapons, I'd just as soon not let them have a new semi-auto. that I had just purchased. My question is. What do you guys think about the possibility of the government taking our weapons? How much of a chance is there of that happening? Are you thinking about the possibility of this before your new gun purchases? Any other thoughts?

The fact that I have to be concerned about such a thing happening in my Country is just disgusting, to me. I can't believe that we have TWICE elected a government that would even consider doing this to its citizens. The ability to defend myself is quite precious, to me. I grew up in Detroit & did not have that ability due to strict gun laws. At the same time, Detroit was the "murder capitol" of the U. S. I, now, live in Arizona where owning a gun is protected. What a difference!!! However, most of the people in Detroit, at least the ones I knew, were wonderful.

Thanks.

What you dont register you dont own. Therefore I dont own any firearms.

Simple problems require simple solutions ;)

All I can say(and I'll probably be called a nut) I hope Obee and the Federal Government remember what happened when the British tried to tax our Tea.

One thing most people don't understand is EVERY GUN SOLD FROM 1967 TO DATE IS REGISTERED. Everybody had to fill out a Fed. form to buy a gun. That dealer had to keep those forms forever. If that dealer went out of business all the forms had to be given to the State Police which kept those forms. All the Gov. has to do is go to the Firearms Manufacture. and get all the info. as to what wholesale dealer they went to. Then the wholesale dealer had to keep his records (or give them to the State Police) as what dealer or store he sold them to. Then they get the dealer or store owners records or from the State Police and then onto the origional owner. If he says I don't know where the gun is or who he sold it to, jail time or big fine. So don't think the GOV. can't find who has the guns. It would be alot of work for them. But heck they have our money to get the job done and there would be more people EMPLOYED.

Buffalo,
Agenda 21 is bottom up, local level stuff!
It cant happen without local voter approval. Get involved in your County, Town, City!
Look up "UN Agenda 21" as a browser search and do some reading!
When the liberals raise a red flag, you now there is an issue! Santa Rosa , California beat it!
Meantime, buy your handgun! Regardless!
But thats not the only front. We are also facing the UN Small Arms Treaty!
Contact your Senator and tell Him/Her not to allow ratification if it comes before the Senate!

The Government has a list of Former Military. IMHO, I would be more concerned about that than an NRA membership.

Ex-marine? Who ever heard of such a thing? :tsk:

Actually, if you have a current FFL, you have to have those records available to ATF inspection at all times during your listed business hours. While in business, you have to keep the records (yellowsheets) for 7 years. After that, you can dispose of them. When you relinquish your FFL, you have to give that paperwork to the ATF or keep them personally for 7 years. After that time, they can be destroyed.

They DONT but why would you belong to the NRA if your interest was in knitting

They are GREAT as long as you BELEIVE the way that THEY DO!!!!

And YOU buy into this WHEN YOU PAY YOUR MEMEBERSHIP. Not much different as a UNION now are they?

Ive never purchased a new firearm through a dealer or a store for that reason. Dont want my name associated with anything I dont have to. As far as getting in trouble over not registering, Ive had the opposite experience with that as well. Was working out of town during the winter a few years back. The weather was nasty and the wife and kids were staying with her parents a few days until the stoem blew over. Our house sat empty a few days and it didnt go unnoticed. Our house got broken into, mostly electronics were taken along with a few tools i had in the basement. i had one pistol in my bedroom not locked up for quick access and they found it while ransacking the bedroom and took it. When we filed our report with the sherriff I was up front with him about it. I gave him the numbers from the gun, I have all of them wrote down and stored in my safe for reference. He asked if it was registered, I told him no. He never made mention of it again. I also have my buddies brother (a deputy sherriff) look into all my guns before I purchase anything. He knows what I do, and hes never made any mention of it bieng a problem. Maybe a different story if I was committing crimes with an unregistered weapon or if I bought an illegal gun, but I simplly own for self defense. Ive never been arrested for anything, never committed any crimes whatsoever. Ill take my chances doing what Im doing. Theres only a small handful of people I trust, the government is not on that list.

The bottom line in my opinion (which dont add up to a shovel full of scat) is as long as I am a law abiding citizen, I KNOW what I am buying, and Im not using them to make the 5 oclock news somewhere, Im not going to worry about it. Itll be a sad day when they start coming door to door to see what everybodys got, they dont even do that to check for green cards :D
