4. 49 in Austin Tx this week coming down a little from 4. 79 /4. 69
Here in Corpus Christi, Texas the prices vary tremendously depending upon where in town you buy. Southside ya gonna pay $4. 699. Out towards the refineries(which has no real bearing) $4. 359-$4. 289. I have noticed gasoline coming down faster than diesel. I have a neighbor that owns a convenience store. Nobody talks to them anymore. They claim they must post a price that reflects the replacement cost. Yet when oil started coming down they do not reduce price. It took pressure from the community not buying fuel for their prices to come down. Another thing I have noticed is the local news stations have their "pumpbusters" showing the best price for gasoline but never for diesel. When asked why the response has always been,"Not as many people use diesel. " I have written editorials to the newspaper concerning this and never seen any of them published. I also only buy cool fuel. If I find fuel is warmer than 70* I'll stop pumping and go elsewhere. Another thing to check is the certification tag. Recently an entire chain of stores(in another city) was fined and will probably have to sell fuel super cheap to make-up for ripping off customers. The regulatory agency is quoted as saying they could literally see the pump repair folks racing to get to the next station to reset pumps they knew were off.
OK. I am done for now.
