Fellow TDR readers- I have a 98. 5 24v and when I was upgrading the lift pump I put on a FASS system. I had heard about restrictions inside the fuel tank. Since FASS said no need to take off the box of the truck (HA Ha try again to remove the lines off with the box on) I took my box off. While there I decided to investigate and when pulled the unit out of the fuel tank the screen on the bottom was so plugged that when I lifted the unit out it kept full of diesel fuel. I replaced the flow limiting screen with some stainless heavier screen (less restrictive) and then was looking at the fuel pick-up assembly. Those lines are small! My question to you is has anybody ever put larger lines in the unit or eliminated the unit itself? I have ideas. Also I knew the FASS was my filtration unit now so did not mind the larger fuel screen at the bottom of the pick-up assembly.

Just remember there is NO sump in the tank. You'll have to be careful about letting the fuel level get too low especially in hilly terrain.
