Gauge Powering

In reference to powering your various gauges... Where did you guys snag your power? I am trying to find a place to tap for my EGT and my electric fuel pressure gauge. I don't want to use fuse taps. I thought about the painless wiring accesory fuse block, but I only need two 12v supplies. I wanted to tap the cigarette lighter, but I can't determine a good place to splice into the wire. In fact I haven't been able to locate the exact wire yet. Which wires have you all tapped into (what do they power and what color were they) and where? Those of you with the electric fuel pressure gauge, where did you locate the box? I am running out of room under the dash and near the steering column. EVS, Brake controller, etc. Thanks in advance

I spliced a #12 guage wire onto the cigarette lighter hot wire and ran it over the top of the steering column. It makes a handy tap for all my extras.



You can reach it easily by removing the ashtray and ashtray bracket next to the lighter.

Alternatley, just fish a power wire in with the boost hose from engine compartment power distribution center terminal.
