Hello All - (my first post here)

Just Installed EGT and Boost gages on my 03. Pyro is in the manifold and boost is in the intake (drilled and tapped). Both gages work fine but I know have a new noise during full boost (over 20psi). Sounds like the hole/tube in the intake has a whistle - lower pitch than the turbo and comes from the drivers side of the engine compartment. I took the fitting apart and all looks good. I added teflon but I stll get the noise. Any ideas? Not sure how I can check for leaks. Boost goes up to about 25psi max and truck runs good. No signs of problems with the hose or fittings.

EGT seems fine - about 600 at 70mph empty - can run it up to almost 1200 at full boogie.

Mounted the gauges in the "cubby" below the radio - just made a plastic plate as others have done - seems OK but I'm hoping that somebody comes out some better mounts. Drilled the Pyro in the top of the manfold as seen here

If you are building 25 psi of boost, you are not leaking! If you had a leak, you would not get that kind of boost. This is where I mounted my gauges.

Wayne, can't remember, did you use the washer trick to drop down the column a touch or not . Think I found the source of what I thought was "speaker buzz" , my gauge mount is touching the bottom of the dash panel, added a piece of foam under it and will find out tomorow whether or not that was it!! Yes, I did use the washers under the steering post attachment bolts to lower the columb a tad.

Wayne, thought you did , the foam trick is not working, almost like the noise is coming from inside the column, will probably try the washer trick this week and see what happens!!

thanks for replies -

Still have the noise but I don't think there is a leak - it must be the position of the fitting (I must have been lucky). I'm holding out on the mounts until I see one that fits my needs. I have an AT and don't want to block the factory gauges - and the wife needs the grab handle and I'm not thrilled with adding to the blind spot. The cubby mount is not that great either since it has such a curve to it -right side gauge is tough to see - even more so since the ISSPRO gauges have a domed shaped cover.

swivel,

Could your noise be telegraphing up through the boost line? Do you have it stretched tight somewhere so it acts like a wire stretched between two tin cans?
