I am planning on adding gauges to my truck in the next couple of months. I am pretty set on the ISS-PRO. I have been looking at the Diesel Manor web site and really like the package they put together. I am going to put on a boost gauge and a EGT gauge. I like the looks of the three gauges on the pillar but do I really need to monitor fuel pressure? My truck is still stock at this point. In the future I would like to upgrade the exhaust, intake and probably add a Edge or something along those lines. If I only put two gauges on I may go with the Westach so I can keep my grab handle and still put them on the pillar. The gauges are going on the truck in my sig.

Any opinions will be appreciated.

Thanks, Joe

I went with the Auto Meter Ultra/Lite series. In my opinion, the quality is superior, as with the accuracy and legibility of the set. I have included a few shots of mine for comparison.

JCasper,

I went with the Isspro white face gauges in the A pillar. I put Pyro, Boost and Trans. top to bottom. For me the middle gauge on the A pillar is the easiest to see. You might consider a Trans temp. gauge. Also go with a boost of 60 psi as my 04. 5 will get up to 32 psi with only a cold air intake on the mods.

I also went with the Isspro gauges mounted on my a-pillar. They look and perform great. The faces are a real good match to the OEM gauges. I also liked the 3 gauge look and went with a fuel pressure gauge. May not need it now, but in the future, maybe... ? Good luck on your choice.

I sure like Johnsons 916,,,, display. . I have a LED to monitor Fuel Pressure,,,Not Installed yet... . It will tell me when the filter gets dirty. I'd like a trany temp indicator. I don't pull anything except a Boat... . so i want to keep my hand hold too. . Whats that thing in the lower left hand side of the stering post??? Looks like a instrument of some kind..... . I wonder if Auto meter makes a white background in digital display?? That might be fun to go with... Doc

Thank you for all your responses. How does the installation go? Is it hard to find the appropriate wires, Power, Dimmer, do you tie all three gauges into the same power and dimmer wire? What if I were to add the Edge w/ attitude controller, Could I just use that for my gauges and not add anything else? What is involved with installing the Edge? Does anyone have any experience with the Westach gauges?

Again thank you for all the help.

I think the Autmeter Ultra Lite II series look good. Their transmission temp gauge is 270* sweep instead of the typical 90 degrees. Here's a pic of it along with their pyro. Boost gauges are 0-35 and 0-60.

You can, but it won't display fuel pressure. I don't think it will display trans temp either, but I'm not positive. I've got a 6 spd.

I have had a few and I think they are a really nice gauge. Especially if you are only installing boost/egt and using the Mopar single a-pillar mount with the grab handle. Looks great.

As far as fuel pressure goes, save your money. You do not need it.

MR PARKS::::: HOW ABOUT A PICTURE???I HAVE A AUTOMATIC AND I NEED THE GRAB HANDLE... . Right (spolled up) Thanks ... . what are the other perminters it checks ? DOC

Gauges

I just installed the Autometer NV series with the dash mount pod. I am a novice when it comes to mechanics. This was a cut and dry installation. A few tips that I did not see posted while I was doing my research. 1) you don't get any boost pressure while idling. I wound it up in park to 2500 rpm and got 6 psi. 2) When you mount your NPT fitting into the manifold for the pyro use a high temp anti-seize paste on the threads. 3) Use a anti-seize paste for the boost bolt too.

As for the NV series the only thing I am not pleased about is the amount of lumens the gauges put out with the lights on. The pyro had a plug-in harness. You had to make the harness for the trans temp and the boost. I am going to fool around with some resistors to see if I can let the light level closer. The dimmer switch rheostat is in the low position. This is my attempt at posting a picture.

Nice Gauge pod, although I'm really interested in your wiper blades though, mine just quit after 1. 5 years of mixed Texas/ California driving. What brand and how much do those babies cost? If you don't mind?

I went with the Auto Meter Lunar Series which have indiglo lighting and matches the stock lighting almost perfect. gOOd luck... .

I bought them at the local auto parts store. Schucks I think. They are a winter grade wiper blade and I can't remember the brand. I didn't pay no more than $20. 00 for the set. The mechanics are wrapped in rubber so ice will not build up. They work great in snow storms. With regular blades you have to pull over frequently to knock the ice out of them. When the ice builds up in the blades they don't perform well.

RonCar,

Can you dim the gauge lighting? Is it hooked into your stock dimmer?

they are hooked to my dimmer but no dimming, roll it down to dim and they go off. No biggy for me, indiglo is not a typical backlit style gauge and therefore very easy on the eyes. great gauges...
