Ok... . understanding that i am mechanically slow, i have a question...
I was told and have read that i need gauges before i start bombing... . i am looking around the net for some and i was just wondering if there is a kit that has all three (boost, fuel psi and pyrometer) all together.

and which brand is better... . i am sorry to ask stupid questions, but right now i am just trying to learn before i jump into this.

thanks guys for your help

First off I have to say that there is no such thing as a stupid question. We are all here to learn so ask away... no matter what the question is.

As far as the gauges go. If you are going to start BOMBing your truck, Yes Gauges are a necessity.

I have not seen any "package deals" that include all 3 gauges bue to people wanting to monitor different things. You ask, which brand is better? There really isn't a "better" brand. Everybody on this board will have a different opinion. Myself I went with Autometer Ultralights. I purchased the EGT (part #4365), transmission (part #4357) and the 50lb boost gauge from JRE. Along with the gauges you will still have to purchase the EGT probe along with a mount. Most people have either the A-Pillar or the Dash mount, I went with Dash mount. If you go to the following URL, you can see a topic on the dashmount along with pictures https://www.turbodieselregister.com/ubb//Forum17/HTML/001074.html.

Hope this helps you out.

Kev

Honestly I wouldn't be the one to ask about the transmission Gauge, being that my truck is an Automatic. Look up HVAC, he can probably help you out with deciding what gauges to run.

I bought gages from Westach. They will custom make you any set that you want. Any range that you want. If they have not done that particular gage they will charge you a screening charge, but they will make it. They have 2" singles they also have 3" doubles & triples.

I think I paid 200$ for a set of gauges from Camping World. They say US GEAR on them but further investigation revealed that they are rebranded Isspros. They are US gears diesel package and are, auto transmission temp, pyrometer, and boost. They came complete with all sending units and included a dash mount for the gauges. I mounted them there initially but I did not like the way they reflected off the windshield at night so I moved them to the A pillar. I like them there.
I have had them for 3 years now and have worked perfectly even under the harshest conditions.

I have a single SPA that takes care of Boost/EGT, I will in the future be adding another dual gauge for fuel press/transmission temp. If you don't mind spending the $$$ (these gauges are not cheap) the SPA's are real nice. You can see a pic of my guage and mount by clicking the link in my signature. HVAC sells SPA's, there are also many other vendors, but IMHO HVAC has the customer service advantage and he is a TDR memeber to boot.

There have been posts on the merits of a temp guage for the manual that imply that it is not really necessary. IMHO, stock or bombed, you need a pyro and a boost guage for the turbo. Post or pre turbo mount always generates lots of discussion. Got the money? Do both. I have the Isspro because I like analog guages. The lighting leaves something to be desired. Got mine from Diesel Injection from Texas.

QRTRHRS Do you remember how much you paid for your gauges? diesel injection is right down the road from my firestation

thanks for the advice all that have responded
ya'll are great

I like my West-Tach gauges a lot. I bought them fom Geno's Garage. I have the Dual EGT Pyro/ Turbo Boost gauge, and a transmission Temp Gauge, installed in a Dual A-Pillar setup.
They were easy to install, and I painted the A-pillar to match.
