Im adding gauges to my tuck and am waiting on a pyrometer and trany temp gauge. What else should i have i was thinking turbo but wasnt sure.

I was told that to install the Fuel pressure gauge you need to run a line with fule in it to the gauge is this a good idea to have in the cab? Im VERY new to add ons sad to say but have been picking up alot on here man this site is awsome.

you can get an electric sender type for the fuel pressure gauge if you do not want to have a fuel line inside the truck. You can also get an isolator for a mechanical gauge. Either way, fuel pressure is very critical on the 98. 5-2002 24 valve motors

I got the isolator on my system. Not a problem to hook it up. I have no vibration or noise in the line, and a nice steady needle, with no bounce to it. Mine is a mechanical type. Check my readers rigs for the pictures of them installed.

I just put the DiPricol gauge and isolator in my '01.

Used the Geno's kit - 18" line direct from the schrader on the VP44 to the isolator, made a bracket to fit under the brake master cyl, and then ran the gauge tubing through the firewall where the pedal for the clutch would be (hole & plug alerady there).

I put as much anti-freeze ("glycol") as I could reasonably get in the line and then mounted the gauge (temporarly) below the ash tray.

I'm wanting to do the FP/Boost/EGT in the A-Pillar soon... . just getting things set-up at this point.

Let me know if you have any questions on my install... . the gauge is steady - no bouncing at all - love it!

Doug,

This is what you need

Boost, EGT, Pre & Post Fuel Filter Pressure, Auto Trans & Rear Temp. :D

Really, Boost and EGT are the most important. Rear temp if you do heavy towing, perhaps. Forget about fuel pressure and upgrade your fuel system with one of the new fuel pump/filter combo.
