Yesterday I recieved my ladder bars in the mail. I couldn't wait to get them on the truck. It took my exactly 1 hour to install. It's a simply bolt on job. With two people you could swing it in 45 minutes, no sweat.

The bars are AWESOME. The design, contruction, and installation of the bars are perfect.

I'm sure you guys are wanting to know how they work on the street... I never would've believed ladder bars increase traction like these do. One of the roads that I travel on everyday is very bumpy for about an 1/8th mile after I turn off of the highway. In the past I had to drive less than 1/4 throttle to keep from bouncing and breaking the back tires loose... not anymore! You can feel the bumps still but it just pulls through it without losing a bit of traction. I'm still all smiles and I've only had them for 24 hours!!! It glues the tires to the road.

I will post up video soon of the bars pivoting when the rear axle gets flexed. I had my girlfriend pull through a ditch last night as I watched.

I took pictures with my camera phone. These will do until I get home and take better ones with the digital.

A little more info on the installation...

1. Bolt the rear axle bracket to the bars.

2. Set the bar on the axle.

3. Swing the bars up to the frame mount.

4. Tighten everything up...

5. Done:)

Lucas,

Can you get a picture of how they mount to the rear axle up close.

I still think he needs to get rid of the shackle for the puller guys.

Nice setup! Bolt on ROCKS!

I've already been pm'd on how to attach the passenger side bar to the axle because of the E-Brake line.

I pulled the E-Brake bracket towards the front of the truck about 1/2 inch. Then I put the axle mount on the axle then attached the bar with the e-brake line in the middle. I'll attach a photo so it makes sense:)

unfortunatly i cant veiw the pics till i get home due to the stupid firewall at work. but do they make a kit for the long bed trucks. i could really use a aet of ladder bars.

Could someone tell me the difference betweeen ladder bars and traction bars, or are they the same thing? How do you tell if one bar is better than the other? What do you look for?

looks good. . i personally don't care for the "X" support plate in them [i'd rather just extra tube /\/\/\ like that between the top/bottom as a support]

i do dig the bolt in application

Good to hear they made such a big difference. It's about time someone came up with a nice setup like that for the 3rd gens.

Really though, Just talked with Richard - First run is scheduled...

I really, really need to ease up on spending on the truck, But how can I resist a kit like this seeing as I already have sereve wheel hop...

those look nice, tho they do hand a little lower at the front than i would prefer.

i was going to fab up my own, but.....
