I don't mind the position of the switch. I can instinctively find it without taking my eyes off the road, BUT that is only useful if it works consistently, which it does not. Sometimes it responds on the first click, and sometimes it does not, so I end up staring at the EVIC anyway to figure out what is going on. I do find it aggravating. What I find way more aggravating, though, is the Tow/Haul button being over in the center stack. Why the heck did they take it off the end of the stalk?! Full disclosure:Mine's a gasser, but I figured I'd put my $0.02 anyway.

On my truck I find that it needs a firm push to activate my wishes. I wish it were a bit quicker though. I use it quite a bit because we have grades with a lot of switchbacks, so I like to keep the trans from shifting up and down. Speaking of the EB, if I have to stop, put the trans in park to check the load or whatever, when I go again the EB will not function even though the light is lit. If I turn it off and back on it will work sometimes and sometimes not. Sometimes I have to stop and shut everything down and restart thus rebooting the computer. I hate doing this as the turbo is hot and still turning but I do it as quickly as I can. Has anyone else experienced this?

If I do not shut the engine down, EB on mine stays on. Same on my last three Rams.

I wonder if you can adapt a steering wheel out of a half ton? My Eco Diesel has the 8 speed transmission and the shift buttons are on the steering wheel right above the cruise control buttons. Otherwise the steering wheels are identical. I MUCH prefer the buttons on the wheel to being on the shift column.

I have really been impressed running my Aisin around town in tow/haul with the exhaust brake engaged. It always seems to be in the right gear and I haven't needed to uses the +/- on it.

With my 68 RFE, even tuned, I always found it necessary to lock it down to 3rd or 4th around town.

I love this 2016 with Aisin!

I was under the impression via owners manual, that the first click on the switch, it will show the current gear you are in,then pressing the switch again will change the gear based on which icon you selected.
