When I do move,no way in hell can I move to a city or town. I'm 8 miles out now and that's 8 miles too far. Willa is the fastest growing area of the state and it makes me sick of all the reject from the lower 48 moving here. Use to be able to leave the keys in your vehicle or the houses unlocked, not now. At night I answer the door with a gun in my hand due to all the late night burglaries and shenanigans. When I move it will be out in the middle of no where and will need to be reminded of AK every time I look or walk outside.

We have not had a VISTOR come to the door sense we moved here at least not one that we DONT KNOW. Our door bells start barking about a 100 yards in on our 400 yard drive and wont stop barking until they leave or we come out. Our Door bells know cars of family and friends cars and trucks they wont bark at but so quiet around here we hear them drive up the stone covered drive if the doors and windows are open.

We do have another kind of vistor that comes around but they are just looking for some easy food to be had

Your making it real hard on me,almost to the point of being jealous. I use to say I hardly had visitors, but times are changing here. Folks moving up here just for the yearly Permanent Fund Dividend oil money, and it seems money always brings out the worst in people. I woke up to crunch crunch on the back porch, first thing I did was grab my pistol and looked out. Quickly realized I needed a bigger gun:-laf We always have these critters in the yard and I've been unlucky enough to hit 2 of them going down the road. This one wasn't too big,she was around 6-700 lbs. I wasn't sure how the fancy high dollar plastic wood would hold up to that kind of weight in the winter,so I opened the door and yelled at her,her hair raised up on her neck faster then I could close the glass door and I hoped she didn't come through. She finished eating the flowers and I went and changed underwear.

Haven't had any Moose encounters!!!! guess there aren't that many around here mostly Elk Deer bear and the other assorted animals that tend to scare the crap out of me when im not expecting them to show up. :-laf

Cannot believe this! I was out plowing this past snow storm (Feb 22) with my 03' w/ six speed manual transmission and the damn gear shifter broke on me!!!!!!! I was only plowing for about an hour and a half! Was in a huge parking lot and was nearly finished clearing the entire site, was in reverse went to shift into first and I was literally hold the gear shifter in my hand!!! It snapped right at the top of the gear shifter rubber boot!Thank God I had a pair of vise grips in my tool box, I was able to attach the pliers to the top of the 1" stud left on top of the gear shift boot and get the truck home and jump into one of my other trucks. What a night! This is my third shifter to break in this truck! (the first two with employees running the truck, and now me!). The first was with the stock shifter and the last two where BD short shift kits sold at Geno's.I did take pictures of the break, it's the threaded rod that threads into the bottom of the gear shifter. Going back to stock, (should have the parts by Friday).I will try to post the pictures I took of the broken threaded rod. This happened to us almost to the day two years ago! I will also call Geno's in the morning and tell them of my problem and see if there are other people having the same problem with the BD kit. Frustrating to say the least!

Here are the photos- if you look closely at the bottom of the threaded rod, it looks to me like its got pits, a line in it- the metal doesn't look good. Thoughts?

After having two kits installed, with two failures, I am going back to stock! Should have the parts tomorrow. Also, sent a copy of the photo's to BD after speaking to them this afternoon. They also told me that they did have "some" failures with this system and told me they would send out another shifter kit, after reviewing the pictures and receiving the failed parts. We shall see.

That's good ole off shore steel right thar. Love the porosity in today's metal.

Years ago, had a pickup with a 2" body lift and the shift lever had an extension piece welded in. It broke one night after class. Luckily I was able to grab the nub with some vise grips so I could make the hour trip home. I laugh now but I was a badger on fire that night.

Just received an e-mail from Dan at BD Performance, in his e-mail he states seeing some "failures" like this in the past. He his sending me out all the necessary parts at no charge. Too late! Received the stock parts from the dealer this morning, in the process of installing them.

You'll probably be much happier with the stock parts. One of the main reasons I do not like to order anything from BD is the quality of their castings.
