Does anyone have a Gear Vendor under/over drive unit on a 6 speed/with 4:10 rear end?
Any Problems? (other than cost)
How much of a RPM drop in 6th over?
Is it worth the investment?
Any information greatly appreciated.

I installed one on my dads '00 Quadcab 6spd 4x4. The only problem I found was I had to make another crossmember to support the OD unit. The GV unit is so long that it would flex on the back of the transfer case and leak. I don't think this would happen if you could keep the carrier bearing, but you must have a new driveshaft to use the GV. I'm not sure if it's worth the cost but dad likes it. The biggest drawback I see is you can't use unless your going 20mph and you can't use it in 4wd. Hope this helps. Blue... ...

Thanks Ole Blue.
I had one on my 92 5 speed really liked it.
Hopefully I will receive more replys.
As long as Dad is happy that is what counts.
Thanks for the information re: flex and the need for additional cross member. #ad

I have the US Gear overdrive in my 2001 ETH 4x4 and it's great. It fits between the transfer case and the transmission, so it works in or out of 4wd.

You can also use it with an exhaust brake, unlike the GV, which I've heard you'll burn it up if you try to slow down against it.

As for RPM drop in 6th, it's almost 500 RPM difference. 2000 RPM vs 2500 RPM at about 75-80 mph.
