I have read about how great the DTT transmission upgrades are and how happy all of Bills customers are with his transmission modifications and his excellant customer service. I have even heard this from a transmission consultant that is independent of this Turbo diesel forum. I guess from what I have heard and read that Bill is the man when it comes to transmissions
. I know I could call Bill and ask him these questions but I don't want to waste his time while I am still not quite ready to commit. ( My drivetrain is still under factory warranty and is stock, plus I am still saving my $$$ ) I'm the type of guy that even if someone else comes out with a better mouse trap before I make my final buying commitment I will go with the guy that has the long term track record (guess I am old fashion). I'm just trying to get a feel for the costs involved in this upgrade. My truck is and will alway be a daily driver (highway Queen
). I now have 40K miles on it and the transmission is well maintained (no problems so far). I am not looking to drag race my truck or use it to haul or tow anything even near the factory ratings. I just want it to be the best it can be with the stock engine 215hp 420 torque. I am looking for long term dependablity 300K plus miles. What would be your recommendations for my truck (89%, 91% etc. ) and what is the cost (ball park) that I need to put away for this upgrade? I live in the Springfield Missouri area so I can't take it to Canada for Bill to do the upgrade, so who would be closest to me that Bill has trained and certified to do this type of upgrade? I know, I know, call "Bill", but at this point I don't want to waste his time. I am just looking for group input and Ball park costs? Thanks in advance for your responses. Sorry for the long post but I felt that to get good feedback you needed all of the facts. Please don't Flame me because I love my truck in stock form and my truck is a highway Queen.
