Tirp to Witchita, anything to watch out for?

Underrated Axles

I guess my suggestion would be 1)adjust the height of your hitch, 2) adjust the pin box on the trailer to get the trailer fairly level (a couple inches off is not a big deal). If this results in too little clearance between top of box and bottom of 5th wheel (about 6" minimum), you have no choice but to lower the rear of the truck a bit. In my case I took the stock 4" blocks out between rear axle and springs and replaced it with a 2" block. This gave me enough clearance.

I have mentioned this before, but I don't know why you can't order a 4x4 without the rear end being so high. I would dare to say most of us aren't running around in the pucker-brush and don't need that ground clearance.

This was meant to be an response to 'camper guys I need help', but it started a new post instead.

I got the dealer to lower mine under warranty. I really like it lowered. Makes it a lot easier to get in and out and load the bed, and really doesn't change the ground clearance.

I think that the lower height should be standard, and let the guys who want a monster truck pay to raise it.

Noticed that you have a Dutch name and live in GR. Although my name is German, both parents are of Dutch ancestery, and I grew up in GR also. Most of the family still lives there. My moms name was Bergsma.

My dealer would not honor the warranty re: installing the TSB as I was over the time period (well within the milege yet, but didn't seem to care). I could have purchased the parts for about $700. 00 from the dealer and that didn't include the Vaselene!!! That is why I replaced the spacing blocks - actually had a local suspension guy do it for a total cost just over $100. 00.

When you pay as much for a truck as you used to pay for a house, it seems the dealers could do a little extra for you now and then.

That's why we call them Stealers... seriously you should post that dealers name--so rest us 'know' him... ... ... R, J. B. ;)
