Ok first off the mounts Im getting a 3 gauge piller mount w/o speaker ... ..... I have aftermarket tweeters and they will not fit in the hole they put on the aftermarket piller pods so Ill have to use the bottom hole for my speaker and just fill around it ... not a problem I work in a plastic plant :) in the 2 top holes will go a pyro and fuel pressure Im also getting a steering collum mount for the boost gauge .

Ive desided to go with the Di PRICOL BLACK faced gauges ...

Ill get the 0-35 boost -it'll move more and Im not planning on running any more boost than that anyway

Ill get the 0-1600F pyro with "INCONEL" TC

Ill get the 0-30PSI fuel presure gauge ------WHAT CAN I EXSPECT FP WIZE??? AND DO I HAVE TO GET THE FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE ISOLATOR???

Thats all for now I dont tow so the trany temp can wait

Any suggestions or comments ??? Install tips??

THANKS

DM

Don't waste your time with a 35# boost gauge. Get a 60# guage. If you get a Comp box like you mention that you want, it'll most likely put you over 35. I could peg my 30# easy, with just the #10 in the stock position. Have a 60# now.

DO issopro gauges have a clearer brighter view???and I wonder if a Double A-Pillar Pod will fit above the tweeter if it does I wont have to rig anything up I can just put the 2 gauge pod above my speaker. anyone have installed pics of the --Double A-Pillar Pod ----its not the full piller its a pod that mounts on top the factory piller.

Thanks

Never been around the Di PRICOL guages, so I couldn't say. 2 of the 3 guages that I have, are the EV series. Very easy to read, day or night.

I had Isspro EV's in my '93. I liked the looks and lighting a lot, but had a problem with the little electronic box that goes between the TC and the gauge. My gauge would go to zero once in a while, and then if you would tap the box, it would read correct again. They sent me a new one, and after a while it started doing the same thing. I'm thinking I'll try the Di Pricols this time because Geno's has all three - the EGT, boost and FP.

If a guy had an Edge EZ, would he ever see over 35 PSI?

I have the Di Pricol gauges... FP, Boost, EGT. I get about 14psi FP at idle and it will drop to about 10-11psi while driving. I chose to get the isolator as I did not want to have diesel into the cab. I would suggest that you install a shutoff valve inline so that it need be, you can shut off the feed to the gauge. For the FP, I tapped into the line that runs from the bottom of the fuel filter to the VP44.

Got mine gauges from Diesel Performance Products.

DOES ANY BODY HAVE A 2 GAUGE POD ON THERE PILLER MOUNTED ABOVE THE FACTORY SPEAKER AND OVER TOP THE FACTORY PILLER????????DOES IT WORK????CAN YOU SEE THE TOP GAUGE OK???????

DO I HAVE TO GET THE FUEL PRESSURE GAUGE ISOLATOR???

Im getting ready to buy this stuff Id like to know what to get. .

THANKS FOR ANY HELP

The Turbo Boost Gauge Fitting

The Turbo Boost Gauge Fitting is a wonderfully inexpensive timesaving method of installing a boost gauge on the 24 valve Dodge RAM diesels. No more time consuming drilling and tapping. A quick simple install with the PDR Boost Gauge fitting saves time, money and potential headaches.

ANYBODY HAVE THIS???????

I have the boost bolt on my truck.

Only complaint is that they charged me like 9 bucks to ship it. It's a bolt, a padded envelope would have saved about 7 dollars shipping on it. It didn't need to be double boxed.

I purchased my Di Pricol gauges from Geno's and it came with the boost bolt. Not sure if they are still doing that or not.

Soooooooooo does the boost bolt work OK ????

DO you have a isolator under the hood for you FP gauge????

Thanks

DM

Boost bolt works great, and yes I do have an isolator under the hood. The 0-30 fuel pressure gauge is fine (normal pressure is ~10-15, mine stays at 15). I would go with the higher boost. 35psi is just not enough... :D

thanks Ill order my boost bolt now

Do you have to have the isolator to keep the diesel smell out of the cab???

Is it really that noticable without it???

Ill be getting my gauges from

www.dieselperformanceparts.com

I think it'd be cool to peg the boost gauge and itd be more acturate at lower boost #'s but you guy keep pounding it in me about getting the 60 psi So Ill do it

thanks for the info so far

You should not smell fuel in the cab without the isolater, unless of course you have a leak. I ditched the isolators during installation, the needle valve is great advise. Are you going to use the grease gun hose to reduce needle vibration? I used them but still needed the valves to eliminate the needle vibration.

Many people use a grease gun hose between the engine fuel line fitting and the hose you use to reach the gauge in order to reduce gauge vibration induced by the engine. The grease gun (gg) hose absorbs most of the vibration of the fuel. I tapped the test port on the VP so I used a hose from Geno's there. I also tapped in pre-filter so I used the first hose from Genos with the schrader fitting thing removed (long story). I inserted the needle valve between the gg and gauge hoses, this setup removed the remaining vibration from the gauge needle for me. The valve also enables you to shut off fuel to the cab in case of a leak, which in my mind is very unlikely but safer is better than sorry. btw, I am not so sure that anti-freeze (isolator) smell is much better than diesel, but it might not linger as long and it is not flamable. I picked up my needle valves (1 for each guage) from a local hardware store, they just need to match the size fittings you are using.

EDIT: When you over tighten the hose from Genos on the schrader port, you effectively turn an $18 hose into a $5 grease gun hose.

Hey DM; Haven't had a chance to brouse this site much, but since you were talking about some plastic work, I thought you might be able to use the info. Check it out. Hope it helps. :) Tony
