the FP gauge says great big on it MUST BE USED WITH AN ISOLATER ... ... ... ... ..... is that a suggestion or what???? I was given no hose it hook it up whats the deal ??? do I have to get the isolater to get the hose???

FIRST shipment received and problems already hopefully this is not a repesentation of the future project>

looks like i have to go by a roll of wire also I think its 18ga

I am really interested in your project, since I will also be going down that road soon.

Regarding wire, I found a "3-gauge wiring" kit at Geno's from Di-Pricol. I presume this is for lighting. It may not be perfect since you are separating your 3 gauges, but they may have other options. I like the kit since it has the wiring and connectors in a "convenient pre-assembled package" (in their words, that "should be available in a well-stocked toolbox". LOL, I probably wouldn't have half of them. ) The kit has "wiring harness with connectors, nylon tie straps, heat-shrink, grommets, in-line fuse holder, and a couple of additional miscellaneous items".

Just a thought.

Good luck!

I checked that out @ DPP its mighty pricy for just some normal stuff But I may have went that route if I wasnt seperating my gauges . Ill solder all my connections I will not use and splicing or butting ends no more Its soldering all the way.

It looks like the install is going to be quite daunting but Im sure I'll get er dun'

Im going with the grease on drill bit and little magnet procedure for drilling the pyro and you can see I got the boost bolt from piers to save some time and trouble I may get the isolater for the FP not sure Im waiting for some TDR feed back on that.

I have to read the directions again-and pick up a new drill bit and tap for the pyro Im tring to get all my ducks in a row.

STAY TUNED

i think when i add my f/p gauge ill bypass all the b/s by just getting an electronic gauge. think it will be much easier.

Howdy, wtfd6. Are there electronic boost gauges available too? I agree that, while seemingly expensive, getting wire to where you need it (the gauges) is much easier and less trouble-prone than fuel lines, and maybe boost tubes.

I am putting my list together, and have not gotten any response from Geno's regarding fuel pressure gauge (Autometer Z) availability. I hope that a long delay in getting info from Geno's is not the norm. :(

Hello Phil, i dont know if there are electronic boost gauges or not. my install was very painless. my boost gauge is mechanical, but the trans temp and pyro are electronic. i love my z series gauges, they work very well. Dieselperformanceparts.com has autometer z series 0-30 psi electronic fuel pressure gauge. it is pricy at about $214. i will be purchasing one soon.

Hello all,

I just put in a boost gauge and a transmission temp gauge. Both from tst. I really like them and they are working great.

This site has been awesome (I am a newcomer) in figureing out alot of little probelms I have had with my truck. I have a 95 autotrans, single cab 4X4. When I bought it I really didn't know much about diesels, I had a 91 cummins, but just drove it, never thought twice about it.

This 95 I have now was said to have a banks power pak when I bought it, but how can you tell? What is in the power pak? I put a straight pipe on it ( did the welding myself), and put a solid steel industries track bar adapter on it as I was having trouble with the death wobble, but besides that I have not done much. I would like to get a proguard airfilter soon.

What should I do now? Get a pyrometer? A fuel plate?

thanks

Aaron

first... install a bhaf, not a oiled filter.

do a search for bhaf.

u need to post in the 12valve forum on the banks q?

id go with the pyro first...

I would put the Pryo and the Boost gauge together on the pillar, because to me they are closely related when one goes up the other usually does too. I also like to watch these closely when pulling up hill. The fuel gauge is not as critical and should be steady so I don't watch it as close.
